Bill Fry

Bill is a scientist at Earth Sciences New Zealand and an Honorary Associate Professor at the University of Otago. His expertise spans earthquake and tsunami hazard as well as the physical processes that create these perils. 

Bill is chair of the United Nations working group for tsunami early warning in the Pacific, leads the MBIE Endeavour Rapid Characterisation of Earthquakes and Tsunamis research programme and is director of the National Tsunami Model. He co-led the Earthquake & Tsunami programme in the Resilience to Nature's Challenges National Science Challenge.
